THE RICHMOND FOLK FESTIVAL @ BROWN’S ISLAND (TONIGHT thru SUNDAY)

If you make it out to anything this weekend, please let it be the Richmond Folk Festival. This celebration of local, national, and international culture has been a staple in this city for years now. In 2010 190,000 people came out to experience one-of-a-kind showcases in cultural art, music, dance, food, and craft. I could on for days about this, but it’s an event that you should be ashamed of missing if you live anywhere near the 804.

That dapper boy roaming the town with nothing but a camera and his fashion sense, Brian McDaniel, is celebrating the 2nd anniversary of his local fashion photoblog DIRTY RICHMOND with a crazy dance party at Cellar Door tonight! When you’ve had your fill of family-friendly folk, come over to get dirty on the dancefloor—Richmond style.

AUDIO AMMO’S BRAIN DRAIN W/ ZOMBIES FOR MONEY @ THE HAT FACTORY (TOMORROW)

BRAIN DRAIN is back on October 15th with special guests ZOMBIES FOR MONEY (T&B) coming to invade Richmond all the way from Portugal! This Lisbon DJ duo, comprised of DJ Manaia and Klipar, blasted into the scene in 2009 with their own style of kuduro melded with dutch house and bass music. This won’t be like any BRAIN DRAIN you’ve been to before, so don’t miss out!
